Troubleshooting with 3Dsmax4 and exporter v1.3 :

Interferences between closed polygonals

Here we talk about a Pod bug. This is the kind of bug wich allow 12 tnalP bug-scut to be possible. When two polygonals are parrallels but with opposed normals (as the two walls into 12P), one of the wall will be...crossable. It's the same if you place a wall polygonal opposed to and under a road polygonal. The road polygonal will be undrivable because the car will simply fall through it.

To avoid such interferences, you have simply to cutt on your track correctly. If you have such cases of opposed and closed polygonals, simply put them each into a different sector. I don't know if the visibility between these sectors has any role to play in this case but I'm sure someone will experiment it soon ;)

Mapping coordinates really weird and boring to set up

You have to know that sometimes MC (MapCoord ok ? ;) will really annoy you ! Max is sometimes doing some strange stuffs with "default coordinates" and he sometimes superpose all the "white points". So when you'll edit them, you'll have to tweak with them a bit...have fun...but with practice it's becoming easier even if it's always a pain when you have 15.000 polygones to set up...=D

That's all for now...

This page was quick made, and it contains only the few comments of my own experiment. You guys will surely encounter other troubles or find other tricks to get this job easier. Feel free to contact me or Sik to give us your comments, the bugs you find out, or any other kind of tricks or tips you think usefull for other designers...
